Collage is a fun and creative way to spend any length of time. One of the first things I did when moving into my workroom, was paste a collage straight onto the wall. I was given permission to do whatever I liked in there, so I did! I photocopied some of my pieces, so I could keep the originals if I wanted to recreate something with them again. Mementos from restaurants, postcards, children's sketches, love notes, quotes, old cassette covers, interesting stamps, labels from past ranges, even a vintage sugar wrapper from Paris found in my Grandmother's stuff.

I think it's best to begin at the centre point of the chosen area, and then build around from there so you keep to your boundary - mixing up sizes, colours etc. After that you can simply add any new bits that enter your life and 'speak' to you. If this method isn't suitable, try doing it behind a frame, to hang or lean somewhere. At least this way you can move it, which is really far more sensible.

Here's what else I did to those walls.
